The Prout name has been synonymous with quality yacht construction since its founding in 1954 by Roland and Francis Prout. Through its demanding specifications and relationships with its Far East shipyards, Prout has been able to continue producing only the highest quality yachts with the finest materials at a fraction of the costs incurred at facilities elsewhere. Using this competitive advantage in conjunction with Prout's extensive IT and R&D work, Prout is able to provide labor intensive, high-end touches to its yachts, including compound curved high tensile safety glass in the salon windows, high-grade inlaid woods, genuine hard-wood flooring, natural golden teak decking, and granite countertops.
History:
Prout Catamarans was founded in 1954 by Roland and Francis Prout. In 50 years of production over 2,400 cruising catamarans were built. Starting in the year 2000, for six years, the Prout design team modernized and re-tooled the range to meet current market trends and designs with a new generation of catamarans. Prout decided to relocate its main manfacturing to a facility in Zhuhai, China and refocused to segregate its products and specialize in each step of the manufacturing process.
